Rotten-egg smell, orange stains in sinks and toilets, or hard, cloudy water from your well? We test your water and install the right combination of treatment to fix it.
Many homes in rural St. Johns and Flagler counties (Hastings, Elkton, Flagler Estates, Bunnell and the surrounding areas) rely on private wells. Florida well water commonly has hydrogen sulfide (the rotten-egg smell), iron that stains fixtures orange, and hardness.
Because every well is different, we start with testing. Treating the wrong problem wastes money. For example, a softener alone won’t fix a strong sulfur smell. We recommend testing a private well for bacteria periodically as well. Your county health department can advise on lab testing.
Hydrogen sulfide, often stronger in hot water.
Iron in the water stains toilets, sinks, laundry and driveways.
Can indicate manganese or iron bacteria.
Hardness, just like city water but often stronger.
Often combined in stages:
Protects all downstream equipment from sand and grit.
Removes hydrogen sulfide and iron so the smell and stains are gone.
Handles hardness after iron and sulfur are removed.
Treats bacteria without chemicals, a common add-on for private wells.
On-site testing for hardness, iron and other basics. Lab testing recommended for bacteria.
We put together the right stages in the right order.
Clean installation with bypass valves and proper drain lines.
We re-check results and set a simple maintenance schedule.

That’s usually hydrogen sulfide gas, very common in Florida wells. It can also come from a reaction inside the water heater, which is often fixed by changing the anode rod.
A softener can handle small amounts of iron, but higher levels need a dedicated iron filter first.
Treatment improves taste, smell and staining, but safety requires lab testing for bacteria and contaminants. Your county health department can help with testing.
